About Us  Set in the north Essex countryside "The White Horse Inn & Lodge" at Ridgewell is ideally situated for the nearby attractions of the Colne Valley Railway, the Castle at Castle Hedingham, Gainsborough's birthplace at Sudbury, historic Lavenham and Audley End House near Saffron Walden to mention but a few.
The spacious bar is welcoming and comfortable with sofa's to lounge on by the open fire. If you are here just for a drink and real ale is your tipple, you will not be disappointed with the choice of an ever-changing range of Guest Beers all served straight form the cask. Excellent House Wine is also available at extremely affordable prices.
The separate newly built Lodge accommodation at the rear of the pub offers two family rooms and five doubles or two twins. The family rooms consist of two separate bedrooms one with a double bed the other with two single beds within the same suite. All are the finest quality and very spacious as are the en-suite facilities that are integral. Each has a television with DVD player as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Every room is suitable for disabled guests. On bright and sunny mornings, if desired, breakfast may be taken on the large newly created patio or in the light and airy Restaurant. We have taken great care to ensure your stay is as comfortable as your own home. However, we do have a no smoking policy within the whole pub & lodge. We hope you enjoy your stay with us.

As well as enjoying a snack in the bar, we also have a large separate non-smoking restaurant. The menu changes weekly. Many of the dishes on offer are home-made traditional English fayre, often made with ingredients from home-grown produce supplied locally.
